The Sixth Clan Chapt.4 Firekit crouched at the edge of the clearing where he and his littermate were told to remain until Bramblestar told them otherwise. The sun was beginning to drop beneath the distant mountains, casting long shadows over the hollow. Oddkit's snowy pelt glistened brighter than its usual shade, and she pressed against Firekit as a gentle breeze rattled through the hollow. Firekit felt cold. The Sixth Clan Chapt.4 by awkward-cat
The brambles of the medicine cat den rustled. Firekit raised his muzzle as Jayfeather emerged. The medicine cat rested his blind, pale gaze upon them. "Your friends will be fine", he reported. "They just need some rest".
Are they not getting their punishments? Firekit growled as he turned to re-enter his den. This wasn't entirely his and Oddkit's fault: it was Brittlekit who had thought of the oh-so-smart idea of sneaking out of camp without a warrior's supervision. If such an absurd idea didn't go through his denmate's head, they wouldn't ha
The Sixth Clan Chapt.3 "Let all cats old enough to hunt gather beneath the Highledge for a Clan meeting".The Sixth Clan Chapt.3 by awkward-cat
A sudden yowl woke Oddkit from her nap. A Clan meeting! Were kits allowed to attend? She hoped so. She glanced at Firekit for reversal. Her brother was nudging Cinderheart awake. "Can Oddkit and I come to the Clan meeting?" he begged. "I'm old enough to catch my own prey - yesterday I caught a moth. Didn't I, Oddkit?"
Said kit nodded. Moths had invaded the nursery a hot morning before, and while the queens were forcing the irritant bugs out Firekit had managed to catch a big moth with his little paws. The kit had been proud of his catch, even when Cinderheart had forced him to release it. Oddkit wished she had caught a moth too.
"Let them go, Cinderheart", said Dovewing. "It's not like they are a youngest kits in the nursery any more". She gave her own kits a gentle nudge to prove it.
Not only did a clowder of moths invad
Shellheart's Danger Chapt.14 "Get Milkfur!"Shellheart's Danger Chapt.14 by awkward-cat
Shellpaw awoke to Clearfall's panic-filled yowl. He padded between Pikepaw and Otterpaw's nests and headed outside, instantly met by a splash of wind in his face. The camp was still dark with night, but half of the Clan was already awake thanks to Clearfall's frantic meowing. Shellpaw tilted his head. Why caused his father to be in such distress?
The grey-and-white medicine cat emerged from the reeds and approached the tom slowly, effort towards the wind. "Is Robinheart alright?" she asked.
"No!" the grey tabby tom spat. "The kits are coming!"
Milkfur's eyes widened. Shellpaw shared her surprise. "What? Now? But she's a moon early!" she commented. She headed inside her den. "Okay, I'll get the things I need". This was her first emergency she had to do alone. Shadepuddle's sickness had taken him a few days ago, and it left Milkfur in such distress knowing that her mentor wasn't around
The Sixth Clan Chapt.2 "Cinderheart, can I go outside and play with the other kits now?" Firekit begged his mother, his forepaws resting on her shoulder. The Sixth Clan Chapt.2 by awkward-cat
The queen sighed. "Alright", she said. "But take Oddkit with you. I bet she'd like to see the camp as much as you do".
Leafpool and Jayfeather had just left, and Oddkit hated her new name already. The name just made her cringe. Oddkit. It sounded like a name that would belong to a kit who was literally odd, not a kit that had two eye colours. She wasn't odd, she was just a kit. Because of her name, she wished that she only had one eye colour.
Firekit circled his littermate, hoping enthusiastically. "Come on, Oddkit, let's go!" he mewed excitedly. "There is so much to see, and that that your eyes have opened we can go!"
"Okay, okay", Oddkit said, padding towards the mouth of the den. Ahead there would lay camp; a place full of her Clanmates. She felt a pang of shyness, and tur
